Ingredients
  • Any quantity of fresh or dried broad beans
  • Water (just enough to steam)
  • Salt
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Mountain pride – Persian marjoram at the serving time (optional) 
Directions
  • To cook fresh lima beans, first we wash the beans.
  • Place fresh broad (lima) beans in a suitable size pot and sprinkle with salt.
  • Add water, cover and bring to boil. Cook until tender.
  • Serve hot with salt and fresh lemon juice.
  • You can serve the whole beans as the skin is very tasty too.
  • To cook dried broad beans, soak them in water overnight (refer to the related video).
  • Place them in the pot, add salt and water and bring to boil.
  • When cooked serve hot with salt and fresh lemon juice.
  • Now enjoy (nooshe jan). 
Tips

Cooking time will vary depending on the type of beans you use.

You can always freeze the beans when they are in season for later use.

Always record the date on the container of food when storing in the freezer.
