Ingredients

2 servings

  • 1 cup thick greek yoghurt (how to make yoghyrt)
  • 1 fresh garlic clove chopped or 1 teaspoon ready-made garlic
  • 1/2 cup cooked spinach (100-200g fresh spinach)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fried onion (How to make fried onion)
  • A few drops of liquid saffron (optional) (How to make liquid saffron)
  • Walnuts 
Directions
  • Clean the spinach.
  • Wash and drain spinach twice.
  • Place spinach in a pot and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, let cool then chop.
  • Place yoghurt, spinach, garlic, salt, pepper, fried onion and saffron in a bowl and mix well.
  • Decorate with walnuts (optional).
  • Serve this as a side dish.
  • Nooshe jan (enjoy). 
Tips

Don’t overcook the spinach, it should still be green.

Always taste the food at the end and adjust the salt and spices to your taste.

 

Cooking Tips
When you’re making soft boiled eggs, cooking time will be longer if the eggs are not room temperature.
To have a spreadable butter for your sandwiches, keep the butter in room temperature for 1 Hour, or place it in the microwave oven for 15 to 20 seconds. Times vary depending on the amount of butter you need.
