Ingredients
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup oil (any other than olive oil)
  • 1 and 1/2 cups white flour
  • 1/2 cup rose water (or 1/2 cup water with 2 teaspoons of rose water essence)
  • 3 tablespoons liquid saffron (how to make liquid saffron)(the amount effects the colour of the halva).
Directions
  • Melt butter in a pot and add oil.
  • Add flour little by little and stir constantly.
  • Liquid must be thick and easy to stir. Reduce heat stirring constantly.
  • To make syrup, melt sugar in water and boil. Set aside to cool.
  • Add saffron and rose water.
  • When the flour has fried enough (it must be brownish) drop a small amount of the mixture into the syrup. If it makes a sound, it's time to add syrup.
  • Now turn off the heat and add the syrup to the mixture gradually and stir.
  • Serve the halva in a dish and decorate with almonds and pistachios.
  • Now enjoy (nooshe jan). 
Tips

You can also serve halva with ice cream wafers
