Ingredients

6 servings

  • 500g chicken pieces
  • 2 tablespoons fried onion (refer to the related video
  • 2-3 tablespoons tomato paste (refer to the related video
  • 500g okra  (bamia )
  • 2-3 potatoes
  • 2-3 carrots
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 200g plumbs or gojeh (optional) 
Directions
  • Wash, skin and cut potatoes into strips.
  • Wash, skin and cut carrots to slices.
  • Wash okras and fry them lightly.
  • In a pot, add fried onion, garlic, tomato paste and fry for 1 minute.
  • Add water, okra, carrots, chicken, black pepper, cinnamon and bring to boil.
  • Cover and let simmer gently on a lower heat.
  • Add salt and lemon juice when chicken and carrots are cooked.
  • Add plumbs or gojeh and cook for another 30 minutes.
  • Make fries (refer to the related video).
  • Serve this food with bread and steamed rice (kateh or chelo).
  • Now enjoy (nooshe jan). 
Tips

Please note that the plumbs have seeds. So let everyone know when you're serving this food.

If you like you can remove the seeds before cooking.
