Ingredients

6 servings

  • 1kg chicken
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 potatoes
  • 3-4 medium carrots
  • 3-4 tablespoons oil
  • 1-2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry lemon powder  (gard leemoo ) (refer to the related video
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 300g gojeh or plums
  • Oil for frying potatoes 
Directions
  • Clean and wash chicken.
  • Cut chicken into pieces, add salt and leave aside for half an hour.
  • Wash, skin, and chop garlic and onion.
  • In a frying pan add oil, onion, garlic and sauté for a few minutes. Add tomato paste and fry for a further minute.
  • Add chicken pieces and lightly fry both sides.
  • Add water, salt, gard leemoo and cinnamon. Cover the pot and let simmer to cook.
  • Make fries (refer to the related video
  • Wash, skin, slice and cook carrots with water in a pot.
  • Now add gojeh (plums) and continue to cook.
  • Serve this khorak with bread or steamed rice (Kateh or Chelo) and decorate with carrots and potato chips.
  • Now enjoy (nooshe jan). 
Tips

It's better to add precooked carrots when cooking the khorak to get the best taste.

Remind people that there are plum seeds in the khorak.
