Ingredients

Serves 6-8

  • 500g fresh dill
  • 400g broad beans / lima beans / butter beans
  • 400g red meat or chicken
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons fried onion (refer to the related video
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 2 ½ cups water 
Directions
  • Clean, wash and chop dill (refer to the related video
  • In a frying pan, mix dill with oil and fry until all liquid evaporates.
  • Place meat and fried onion in a medium sized pot and brown.
  • Add herbs and water then bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer until meat is tender.
  • Meat can also be browned and cooked in a pressure cooker for faster results, in which case, use a small amount of water to cook the meat and add the rest after the meat is cooked.
  • Add beans and cook till its tender.
  • Add salt, pepper and cook for 15 minutes.
  •    Serve this stew with chelo or kateh
  • Now enjoy (nooshe jan). 
Tips

For faster results, you can use chicken instead of red meat.

Time of cooking depends on the type of meat.
