Ingredients

6-8 servings

  • 500g minced / ground beef
  • 2 big carrots
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric 
  • 2 tablespoons fried onion (refer to the related video) 
  • 1 cup of cooked chickpea powder (refer to the related video
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper 
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar

 

Directions
  • Grate carrots and onion.
  • In a pot or bowl add minced beef, grated onion, carrots, salt, pepper, turmeric, chickpea powder and mix well.
  • When you're mixing this mixture you need to add around 1 cup water gradually to be able to shape it.
  • Heat some oil in a frying pan.
  • Now pick a small amount of the mixture and shape as you like. Place patties in the pan and fry.
  • Turn over the patties when one side is brown and repeat for the other side.
  • Lay the patties on a piece of paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Now in a pot add fried onion, water, sugar, vinegar and salt then arrange the patties or koofteh in this mixture.
  • This mixture should cover the kooftehs (meatballs).
  • Cooking time will be 30 minutes.
  • Serve this food with bread (Nan Barbary).
  • Enjoy (nooshe jan). 
Tips

If you like you can use lemon juice instead of vinegar.
