How to make Sour Cherries Jam (morabba albaloo)

Ingredients
  • 1 kg fresh sour cherries (albaloo)
  • 1.5kg sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons lemon juice 
Directions
  • First, wash cherries.
  • Now clean cherries and wash again.
  • Carefully remove the seeds.
  • Place half the amount of sugar in a big pot and add cherries on top.
  • Add the rest of the sugar on top and leave aside for 4 to 5 hours.
  • Now bring to boil slowly on a low heat.
  • Cook for 10 minutes.
  • To see if our jam is ready, pour 2-3 tablespoons of the jam in a small dish and let cool.
  • If it's too runny you need to cook it a few minutes longer until thicker.
  • In the end add lemon juice, turn off the heat and allow to cool.
  • Serve this jam for breakfast or for dessert toppings.
  • Enjoy.
