How to make Plum Jam (Morabbayeh Aloo)

Ingredients
  • 400g red plums
  • 3 cups water
  • 300g sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice 
Directions
  • Wash the plums and cut them into a few pieces making sure to remove the stones.
  • In a pot, mix water with sugar, add the plums and bring to boil.
  • Simmer gently until the plums are soft and the syrup thickens.
  • To see if the jam is ready, pour 2-3 tablespoons of the jam onto a small dish and let cool.
  • If it’s too runny, you need to cook the jam for a few more minutes to allow it to thicken.
  • When thick enough, add lemon juice and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Pour the jam into a jar while still warm.
  • Serve for breakfast and desserts.
  • Enjoy (nooshe jan). 
Tips

You can use any type of plums to make this jam. The end result will vary depending on the type of plums.

Always record the date on the container of food when storing them.
