Ingredients

Makes 2 rollets

Directions
  • Cook the carrot.
  • Wash, skin and grate the onion, then place in a big bowl.
  • Add meat, cooked chickpea powder or bread crumbs, eggs, salt, pepper and mix well.
  • Sprinkle some of the bread crumbs onto a big tray or cutting board.
  • Now spread the meat onto the tray, make sure the meat is pounded out to a thickness of one centimetre.
  • Place the hard boiled eggs or carrot and parsley over the meat, then roll up both sides and secure the ends.
  • Prepare your sauce using the related video.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and brown the meat logs on all sides.
  • Place the logs in a good sized pot and pour the sauce over, cover and bring to boil.
  • Cook over a medium low heat for 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Slice and serve this food warm as an appetizer or main dish.
  • Enjoy (nooshe jan).
Tips

If you do not have chickpea powder, you can use bread crumbs instead.

At first, it's a good idea to make the rollets smaller, as they'll be easier to handle.
