How to make Cooked Turnip (shalgham)
Ingredients
  • 500g turnip
  • 1 cup water
  • Fresh lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste (optional) 
Directions
  • Wash turnip.
  • Place the turnip in a pot or in a steamer.
  • Add water, cover and bring to boil.
  • Now cook on a low heat until tender.
  • Cooking time will vary depending on the type of turnip you use.
  • Serve hot with lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  • Now enjoy (nooshe jan). 
Tips

There are many different types of turnip and they vary in taste.
