Ingredients

2-4 servings

  • 1/2cup rice flour (60g)
  • 2 and half  cups water
  • 1/4 cup rose water (golab)
  • 3/4 cup sugar (150g)
  • 1/4  teaspoon saffron powder or 2 to 3 teaspoons liquid saffron(refer to the related video)
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds (25g)
Directions
  • Dissolve saffron in hot water or keep as powder.
  • Place rice flour in a pot.
  • Add water gradually and stir to get a smooth mixture.
  • Bring to boil on a medium heat while constantly stirring.
  • Simmer gently while stirring constantly until the mixture becomes thicker.
  • Add sugar and rose water and keep stirring.
  • Add saffron to the mixture.
  • Add almonds and mix well.
  • Serve this saffron pudding (Sholeh Zard) in a small individual serving bowl.
  • Decorate with cinnamon and almonds.
  • Nooshe jan (enjoy). 
Tips

Adding almonds in to this pudding is optional.
