Ingredients
Directions
  • Cover a tray with cooking paper or lunch paper and lightly spray with cooking oil.
  • In a pot, mix sugar, honey, oil and gradually allow to melt on a medium heat.
  • Stir a few times during this process.
  • Don’t stir too much as the oil and sugar will become separated and you won’t get the right results.
  • When the sugar melts and changes colour, add liquid saffron.
  • Add slivered almonds and gently mix to cover them with the syrup.
  • Make the temperature as low as possible.
  • Now spoon this mixture into the prepared tray.
  • Let cool before removing them from the tray.
  • Keep these sohan’s in an airtight container.
  • Now enjoy (nooshe jan). 
Tips

To keep these sweets from sticking to each other, lay them on a piece of cooking paper layer by layer.

If you don’t have access to cooking paper, use lunch paper. Make sure to dab a bit of oil on top with a paper towel.
